Performance Series with Accompanying Installation
Seven Planets Seven Days is a Series of Planetary Invocations presented as seven distinct Performance Pieces. In classical Astronomy, Seven Planets were recognized: The Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and The Sun. (although confusing to a modern audience The Sun and The Moon were considered Planets in antiquity as their position in the heavens was not fixed) Each of our days of the week is named for one of these Planets from Monday to Sunday in the order that they are listed. As the series progresses we will be creating an installation in the main room, specifically seven large pieces of fabric in the corresponding colors of each planet will be mounted on the main back wall and the objects used in each performance will be left behind as a growing installation.
The bulk of the performances would occur in the main room with the installation focussed on the back wall, but some performances would also crossover into upstairs and outside space. For example in The Moon vessels of water would be carried outside to capture the reflection of the nearly full moon then brought back inside to fill a larger vessel and in Saturn lines would be extended from the upstairs projector window toward the floor at the back wall to allow small lead weights to slowly descend on these lines.

Other performances could occur in the space during this week either before or after the planetary performances, however to keep the visual cohesion of the series no other work should be displayed
