Paintings by Matt Lifson and Mata junk sculptures will be installed in the upstairs galleries. On view from 12pm, before the performances.

Matt Lifson is a Los Angeles based artist. “Sleep With Me And A Ghost” is a collection of found and manipulated photographs alongside the artist’s paintings. They are presented as a fabricated timeline of fragmented moments that challenge the constructs of identity and the parameters of a public and private archive. His work has been exhibited internationally. “Sleep With Me And A Ghost” also includes a commissioned essay by Brandy Wolfe.

Mata was a gallery located at 3709 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles that existed from 2013–16. It was founded and run by artists Maria Garcia and Pat Murch. “Mata was an empty space, a container to be filled. We trusted the artists we worked with to fill it. To make it their own. Even with our set rules, we attempted to let each event be a practice in letting go.” —Maria Garcia
